Trick or Treat Tote Design for Non-verbal Trick or Treaters
Halloween can be brutal for both non-verbal children and their families. Whether your child has a speech delay or is non-verbal for other reasons, you can empower them this holiday by letting them trick or treat on their own.
Trick or treating in Kindergarten was even worse than Pre-K. My son was still orally defensive and could hardly get any sounds out. He wanted so badly to trick or treat with his cousins like a big boy. Unfortunately that night there was more than a couple houses who refused to give him anything because he didn't say trick or treat.
Let me tell you, it took everything I had not to go Mama Bear on those people. Instead I tried to focus on what I could do to prevent it from happening again. A trick or treat bag is the fastest and easiest way for your child to express themselves without speaking and hopefully heading off those people.
This version is for kids who love the scary nature of Halloween. There's also a cute kid-friendly pumpkin version too. Have a fun-filled holiday!
