An .svg (Scalable Vector Graphics) is the most common type of cut file. Die cutting machines like the Silhouette Cameo or Cricut Explore Air 2 use them to determine how to cut materials.  A cut file is a digital file that contains a blueprint of sorts.  It is a set of lines that tells a machine where and how to cut and image.  It's how people create decals, cards with punch out holes, custom stickers, vinyl for shirts and more.  The possibilities are endless.

Downloads come in zip file format (scroll down for help using zip files on mobile). Inside you’ll find a text Terms of Service file and four folders:

SVG Folder for use with Designer Edition Silhouette Studio software, Cricut and other modern vinyl cutters

DXF Folder for use with Basic Silhouette Studio (visit this tutorial for mastering dxf files)

PNG Folder transparent, 300 dpi images for printing and mockups

EPS Folder vector eps files for use with Corel Draw, Affinity Designer and other vector program

No problem, you can use the .png and .eps files for printing!

To print on paper or greeting cards you can use a built-in program or insert the png image in Word, Power Point, etc.

Make sure to set your print size and turn off your printer's color management in the print dialogue.

To place on a t-shirt, bag, throw pillow cover, etc, I recommend printable vinyl from your local vinyl store or something like this: https://expressionsvinyl.com/inkjet-printable-vinyl-sheet/

You can bring the color back on printable vinyl by pressing it again.

Need something quick and short-term? Wal-Mart carries transfer paper in the stationery section that normally lasts a couple of washes.

Silhouette user without the Designer Edition upgrade?

Right click and extract allyou can change the folder name and location in the pop up if you would likeif your built in software isn't working for you, I recommend 7-Zip

Mac

double click the files should decompress right into the same folder. See the zip file tutorial for more information.
