Vegetables and herbs are always in season and so fun to create. This pattern was created for Spoonflower's "Vegetable & Herb Gardens" design challenge in June 2021. I love a good mid-century design and thought this subject would be the perfect fit.

I started with a few pages of sketches in my sketchbook which I moved to Illustrator to draw the line work. I finished the motifs with slightly desaturated garden tones (plus a little pop of pink, can't resist the pink) set at a slight offset to create a vintage feel. The tablecloth background texture completes it while providing subtle interest.
